SUNFLOWER SEEDS have been used as nourishment for more than 5,000 years. They were a Native American staple and were one of the first plants cultivated in the United States. Sunflower seeds are 23 percent protein and contain all eight essential amino acids, making them a complete protein. They’re rich in vitamin E, which supports the cardiovascular system and functions as one of the body’s main fat-soluble antioxidants. This is important for neutralizing free radicals which can damage fat-containing structures such as brain cells, cholesterol, and all cell membranes leading to premature aging and Alzheimer’s disease. Sunflower seeds also provide vitamin B1, which supports memory health, energy-producing B5, bone-healthy calcium and magnesium, and the sleep-enhancing amino acid tryptophan.


PUMPKIN SEEDS supply a powerhouse of nutrients, including amino acids, essential fatty acids, iron, and phosphorus. They are one of the best sources of zinc—a necessity for maintaining proper immune system function, stabilizing metabolic rates, balancing blood sugar, and maintaining an optimal sense of taste and smell. Zinc is well known for promoting proper growth in children and for maintaining men’s health. Pumpkin seeds also provide sleep-regulating tryptophan, antioxidant free-radical fighting manganese, and muscle-relaxing magnesium.


CHIA SEEDS were used by the ancient Aztecs as a ceremonial sacred food and as a staple for their diet, due to their high nutritional content. These tiny seeds contain 60 percent omega 3 (ALA) anti-inflammatory essential fatty acids; 20 percent complete protein; antioxidants including vitamin C, E, cinnamic acid, quercitin, myricetin, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, and flavanols; and minerals including calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, and potassium. Chia seeds supply a source of slow-burning carbohydrates that increase stamina and endurance while balancing blood sugar. These ancient seeds also provide hylauronic acid, which absorbs nine times the volume in liquid, which promotes hydration, maintains electrolytes, and facilitates tissue repair and growth. Chia seeds are a source of both soluble and insoluble fiber, which promotes motility and eliminates toxic waste.


GOLDEN FLAX seeds are a rich source of essential fatty acids and fiber. They provide a thick mucilaginous fluid that heals the lining of the GI tract, coats the stomach, and increases elimination. Flax seeds contain eight essential amino acids, including lignans—known to protect women from breast cancer and men from prostate cancer—and prussic acid, which stimulates digestion and enhances respiration.


CINNAMON is a warm digestive aid that assists in stabilizing blood sugar levels while increasing sensitivity to insulin. Its essential oil and active component, cinnamaldehyde, functions as an antimicrobial, killing fungus and yeast growth. Cinnamon works as an anti-inflammatory, as it inhibits the fatty acid called arachidonic acid. Cinnamaldehyde is useful in the blood stream, as it prevents excessive platelet clumping and balances cholesterol levels. Cinnamon also provides fiber, vitamin C, choline, iron, manganese, and thiamine.


MESQUITE POWDER is a traditional food of many indigenous cultures. It has a sweet, slightly smoky, caramel taste with a texture something like wheat flour, but grainer. It’s about 17 percent protein, making it ideal for those who wish to avoid high-carbohydrate foods. It also gluten free and has a significantly lower glycemic index than regular white or wheat flour. Mesquite is rich in galactomannans, soluble fiber, and it provides an excellent source of calcium and magnesium.


COCOA POWDER: is rich in sulfur, which promotes beautiful skin, hair, and nails; detoxifies the liver; and supports a healthy pancreas. It’s also rich in magnesium, which is key for balancing brain chemistry, building strong bones, and generating overall happiness. Cocoa powder provides even more benefits, such as minerals like calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, and vitamins like B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, and E. Other chemicals in cocoa include PEA and anandamide. Cocoa powder contains enzyme inhibitors, which prevent the break down of anandamide, thus prolonging the feeling of goodness. It also provides substantial amounts of magnesium—the most deficient and most important major mineral in humans’ diets.


LUCUMA POWDER is made from a highly nutritious fruit that contains 14 essential trace elements, including potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. These elements support healthy teeth and bones, balance hormones and digestion, stimulate the immune system, and improve physical endurance. Lucuma powder has also been used as an anti-inflammatory agent, which promotes tissue regeneration and supports anti-aging.


SEA SALT contains more than 80 minerals that are essential to life. Salt is the second major constituent in the body besides water. It is this combination of sodium, chloride, and minerals that make unrefined salt a healthy product for our bodies. Low mineral levels are associated with elevated blood pressure. COCONUT SUGAR is a delicious sweetener produced from sap, which is harvested from the coconut palm tree’s flower buds. Coconut sugar has been used as a traditional sweetener for thousands of years in the Southern and Southeast Asia, where the coconut palm is in abundant supply.
